TURNEFFE ISLAND LODGE
"A Private Caribbean
Island"
Come enjoy the pristine waters of the Caribbean
on the white sandy beaches of Turneffe Island Lodge!
Surrounded by one of the most fertile marine
eco-systems in the world, so the diving and snorkeling are incredible:
there are over 30 dive sites with a 15 minute boat trip! Located on the southern end of the Turneffe
Island chain, the resort occupies its own 12-acre private island.
Remote and secluded, very friendly, with upscale island accommodations.
Your stay at Turneffe Island Lodge includes
roundtrip transfers by boat from Belize City, accommodations and
all meals, and your choice of diving, snorkeling/beachcombing, and
fishing packages. And speaking of meals: the food is incredible!
Everything's made from scratch in the resort's kitchen: 3 meals
a day, snacks throughout the day, and hors d'oeuvres before dinner.
The dinner menu may include such signature specialties as Snapper
with Lemon Nut Crust, Coconut Shrimp, Filet of Beef with Lobster
and Asparagus, and coconut creme pie.
A fully stocked bar with a selection of premium
wines is available, at extra charge. Diving atmosphere is casual
and relaxed; however, a cover-up and shoes are requested. The standard accommodations are in the lodge
rooms: all feature private bath and are tastefully appointed, with
excellent views of the Caribbean. For extra privacy and seclusion,
upgrades to private oceanfront cabanas are available.
The diving here will spoil you, with some of
the best dive sites in the Western Caribbean. Enjoy drift diving
on sheer walls, and watch for turtles, eagle rays, nurse and reef
sharks, goliath groupers, dolphins and even whale sharks! One-tank dives depart three times a day. 25'
skiffs carry a maximum of 10 divers; the staff will handle your
gear between dives. Nitrox, SCUBA instruction, and gear rental are
available.
Arrivals and departures on Wednesdays and Saturdays
only; transfers from Belize City are by boat, so you'll need to
arrive at Belize International airport by mid-afternoon (and your
departure from Belize should be no earlier than noon, to allow enough
time to get to the airport).
Non-divers enjoy beachcombing, snorkeling (from
shore, or on two boat snorkeling trips per day), kayaking, sailing,
or just some quality hammock time!
